it is in connection with each other,
in the grief,
in the tears we shed,
in the sound of the drums that vibrate
through the sky
into the earth,
in the dancing,
in pouring libation and singing songs,
in the support we give one another
that a portal is created
through which the soul of the one we've lost,
can go to the other world.
simple, but forgotten
in other parts of the world
modernity swallowing all that was
not knowing that what was, still is
and will be.
strongly kept tradition,
rituals,
even in the small things
adjusted here and there over the years
but having its own reasons
to help the souls transition
and for us, to find peace
in life's seasons.
